Area Organizations Celebrating Giving Hearts Day 

Giving Hearts Day is today, and for many area organizations it’s the most important day of fundraising day of the year. Giving Hearts Day offers charities an online giving platform and encourages people to give to charities they love during a highly promoted 24 hour period. Since the event started in 2008 Minnesota and North Dakota  charities have raised nearly $165 million.

St. Michaels School in Mahnomen is one of the area non profits that will be participating in Giving Hearts Day this year and Tina Penner of St Michaels explains why it’s an important day for them. 

The Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation has been involved with Giving Hearts Day since the beginning, and the day helps them send veterans on their outdoor retreats. Foundation Director Tracy Dunham tells us more about these retreats.
