Area sugar beet crop at high risk for Root Rot and Cercospora leaf spot
R&J Ag Reporter Nick Revier recently caught up with Dr Ashok Chanda of the University of Minnesota Extension Department of Plant Pathology to discuss the current day sugar beet crop and potential issues that may arise in the crop. Chanda says one disease sugar beet producers should keep an eye out for is root rot.
Chanda also encourages producers to submit sugarbeet samples to the Department of Plant Pathology if they suspect root rot in their crop.
