Assessed Home Values to Rise

This time of year many homeowners will be receiving their assessed taxation value notices in the mail. County Commissioner Joan Lee gives an update on Home Value taxation and how assessed values are decided:

There are 5 Basic classes of property, Homestead, Residential, Commercial/Industrial, Rental/Residential, and unimproved Property. Typically the properties taxable market value is multiplied by the class rate to determine a property’s tax value, also known as net tax capacity. Lee explains further:
