Barnesville Assault Arrest
BARNESVILLE, MN—A Barnesville woman is facing felony assault charges after she allegedly threatened a man with a kitchen knife inside their apartment. 36-year-old Hannah Desamille Blankenship was charged Monday in Clay County District Court with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony, and misdemeanor domestic assault. According to court documents, officers were dispatched to an apartment in Barnesville at approximately 1:54 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, for a reported domestic assault. A man told law enforcement that the night before the incident, Blankenship warned him he “better sleep with one eye open.” The next morning, the man said he opened the bathroom door to tell Blankenship to stop using all the hot water. According to court documents, she swung a kitchen knife at him and told him not to open the door. Later, when the man entered the bedroom to get clothing, Blankenship allegedly swung the knife at him a second time. Court documents say she told him, “I’ve stabbed one person before and I’ll do it again.” Law enforcement recovered the kitchen knife from a laundry basket inside the apartment. Court documents show Blankenship is currently awaiting sentencing in a separate Clay County case in which she allegedly threatened another man with a knife. She pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in that case. She also has a pending case for fifth-degree drug possession and violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order. Blankenship is currently in custody in the Clay County Jail.
