Baseball Borderland Battle Ends With Broncos On Top

Torin Thompson drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Broncos Baseball team past Littlefork-Big Falls 11-3 in the borderland battle. Thompson tripled in the fourth scoring three, hit a sacrifice fly in the first scoring one, and doubled in the fifth scoring one. Fellow senior Keaton Maish struck out 10 batters on the day, surrendering four hits and three runs over six and two-thirds innings while walking one. Kaden Korpi homered to right field, scoring two runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 11-3.
Tommy Larson took the loss for Littlefork-Big Falls, going six innings, allowing 11 runs (six earned) on 11 hits, striking out four and walking four. The Broncos amassed 11 hits in the game as Swenson led with three hits in four at bats, and Caleb Joslyn collected two hits for International Falls Varsity Broncos in four at bats. Tommy Larson was also one of the leaders for Littlefork-Big Falls with one run batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day, as did Thatcher Jenkinson who hit 3-of-4 with three singles in the second, fourth, and fifth inning.
Prior to the Borderland Battle, the Vikings Baseball team played on Scheela against Hill City/Northland. The LBF Baseball team would come away with the win in walk-off fashion 13-12. The win came thanks to a single by Dominic Juen that sent Jax Sullivan home.

Anthony Boorman pitched the win for Littlefork-Big Falls, and Tommy Larson was 2-for-4 batting in three runners.
