Broncos Golfer with the Chance of Ms. Minnesota
The StarTribune released an article recently listing all the ladies on the watchlist for 2024 Ms. Minnesota Golf, and one name sticks out among the rest. International Falls very own Kelby Anderson!
I had the opportunity to interview Kelby and how she felt about making the watchlist.
As the only girl on the Varsity team, is it something that comes to her mind at meets? Is it intimidating being a one-woman army?
Kelby Anderson gained so much skill from being in the sport for many years.
So what’s her favorite meet this season?
And which meet was her best performance-wise?
I was curious on her preference, if she had one, between 9-hole and 18-hole Golf.
So what does she plan to work on, or what does she believe she needs to work on moving forward?
Another attribute to her success this season is her work in the offseason.
And with her dad being the coach, I asked if she ever beats him in golf.
She was then asked her favorite part of meets.
Would she see herself as an underdog in the race for Ms. Minnesota Golf?
But she isn’t too nervous as she has competed against the other candidates before.
In February, Kelby Anderson had signed her letter of intent to attend and play golf at Winona State University. So I asked what would be the biggest adjustment when she moves on to play in college.
Although, she is in a little trouble at the moment because of a broken 7-Iron and being a lefty golfer. As well as the slight pressure that comes with being a Ms. Minnesota candidate.
But she has many great supporters behind her cheering her on!
