Doug Burgum Hits Donor Requirement
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum announced that he has met the required number of donors necessary to qualify for the First Republican Presidential Debate.
The Republican National Committee requires candidates to have a minimum of 40,000 individual donors spread out across 20 different states. Governor Burgum will also have to receive at least one percent of support in several different polls that lead up to the First Republican Debate.
The First Republican debate is scheduled for Thursday, August 24. Burgum has not met the polling requirements yet but is expected to meet the requirements set by the Republican National Committee. If polling requirements are met Burgum is expected to debate alongside former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron Desantis, Former Vice President Mike Pence and a growing list of other candidates.
