Buxton Residents Seeing Relief From Blocked Rail Crossings
The Buxton City Council met in regular session Wednesday.
Mayor Travis Soderberg updated the council on the recent blockages at the two rail crossings in city limits. Soderberg informed the council that there have been no blockages reported since the last council meeting in September. Soderberg also mentioned that the issues seem to have been resolved, thanks in part to a conversation with Senator Kevin Cramer.
Among other discussion items, Soderberg informed the council that the lift station backup generator project should be completed, with all parts operational, by next week. There was also positive feedback from the city’s fall clean-up efforts despite less participation than in the spring.
Approved action items at the meeting included: the acceptance and first reading of a tax exemption application for an expansion project at Central Valley Bean; snow removal bids for the 2023-2024 snow season; and the purchase of a new city lawn mower.
The Buxton City Council’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 8th.
