Car Seat Safety Check Today at Little Learners in Ada
Ada, MN — Is your child properly secured in their car seat? Based on the statistic that 4 out of 5 car seats are used incorrectly there’s a good chance they are not. To prevent injury or deat and help parents, grandparents, and expecting parents understand how to properly buckle in your child, Safe Kids Grands Forks and Norman-Mahnomen Public Health are hosting a car seat checkup event today at Little Learners Childcare in from 4-6pm. Aimee Eggen of Norman-Mahnomen Public Health says this event, which is open to the public, will provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions and make sure their car seat is properly installed.
Jasmine Wangen, Child Passenger Safety Coordinator for the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety, says most people believe that they are installing their car seats and buckling in their child correctly, but there are a number of things that often go overlooked.
For those who are new parents or don’t use carseats very often, such as grandparents of caregivers, the Car Seat Safety Check is an ample opportunity to brush up on your skills and knowledge.
Safe Kids Grand Forks and Norman-Mahnomen Public Health will also check the expiration date of your car seat and make sure there are no recalls.
Another Car Seat Safety Check is being planned for July 11th at Little Learners Westview in Halstad.
