Child Passenger Safety Week
With this week being National Child Passenger Safety Week, parents are being reminded about new Minnesota car seat safety laws that took effect August 1st. Brynna Knapp with AAA Minnesota Public Affairs says a five year study by AAA shows the benefits of child safety seats.
One of Minnesota’s new laws is that a child seat for kids two years old or younger must face the rear instead of forward. Knapp explains the change.
This coming Saturday is National Seat Check Day and several communities will be hosting seat checks. Norman-Mahnomen Public Health also conducts child safety seat checks by appointment. To make an appointment call 218-784-5425.
