City of Ada Installs Security Cameras in Parks to Catch and Deter Vandalism
Ada, MN — After a string of vandalism at their various parks this summer, the City of Ada has resorted to installing security cameras to help catch vandals and deter future acts of vandalism from occurring. Parks and Recreation Director Brianna Eggen says its unfortunate that the senseless acts are occurring in the first place, but the new cameras are up and working well, noting that they have already caught several individuals damaging city property in their parks.
One of vandals has been charged criminally. According to court documents, the Ada Police Department was contacted on July 14th, 2022 in regards to a vehicle driving through the East Side Park and striking several light poles, causing more than $1,600 in damage. The video surveillance identified that the driver was Christopher Douglas Wiley, age 22 of Ada. Wiley is being charged with Criminal Damage to Property in the First Degree, which is a Felony.
