City of Fosston still pursuing plans to end partnership with Essentia, despite $12 Million investment
Last week, healthcare provider Essentia Health announced a $12 million investment to upgrade their emergency department at their hospital in Fosston despite an ongoing dispute between them and the City of Fosston. Fosston City Administrator, and First Care Medical Services Board member Cassie Heide says the City of Fosston supports the investment by Essentia Health, but she says the board is still looking to end their partnership with the healthcare provider.
The City of Fosston has been in a dispute with Essentia since January of 2024, when Essentia Health ended their labor and delivery services in their Fosston location.
