Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office warning public about recent Tax Scam 

Tax filing season is a time of year where scam cases increase, and the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office is warning area residents about a recent scam that has targeted some area residents. 

Halverson says these scammers are really hard for law enforcement to track down, so it’s important that people know the signs of a scam, and protect themselves. 

If you believe you have fallen victim to a scam, immediately contact your personal bank or credit union. People can also report the scams to the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and their local law enforcement agency.
