County Commission Candidate Comments from GFWC Mahnomen County Candidate Forum
Mahnomen, MN — During last week’s GFWC Mahnomen County Candidate Forum, County Commission Candidates from District 2 and District 4 all got the opportunity to answer submitted questions the public. All of them were asked about what they would do to promote Economic Development in Mahnomen County.
In District 4, incumbent candidate Karen Ahmann says it’s important to support the current businesses by providing workforce.
Challenger Scott McCollum, who currently represents District 2 but due to redistricting is running in the new District 4, echoed a similar statement to Ahmann.
In the District 2 race, current District 5 commissioner David Geray is up against Theodore “Teddy” Busse.
Geray says there’s no easy solution into spurring economic development in the county.
Busse says it’s time to start bringing those folks who left years ago back into Mahnomen County.
