CRMC Cancer Support Group for Thursday, June 16th
(Crosby, MN) — Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Palliative Care Program Manager and Social Worker Betsy Liedl will speak about CRMC’s palliative care services at its Cancer Support Group on Thursday, June 16, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s Clinic Conference Room.
Liedl will explain how palliative care focuses on managing symptoms of chronic disease and maintaining/improving quality of life, focusing on what matters. She will talk about how the program is available for people at any age, in any stage of chronic disease such as heart disease, lung disease, dementia, cancer, Parkinson’s, and any combination of these diseases. The social worker will relay how palliative care can people live as well as they can for as long as they can.
Also at the group, Cancer Care Navigator Dustine Parks and Liedl will lead a discussion. The group is an opportunity to share experiences and support one another, to listen and learn. Cancer Support Group meetings are held the third Thursday of each month with a new topic each month. A soup and sandwich lunch will be served.
