CRMC Nurse Receives Robotic Care Specialist Accreditation
Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Operating Room Charge Nurse and Robotic Coordinator Sarah Oehrlein, R.N., of Brainerd recently achieved Robotic Care Specialist accreditation through the Surgical Review Corporation, recognizing that she goes above and beyond supporting patients and surgeons before, during, and after surgery.
The Care Specialist accreditation program recognizes elite allied health team members who excel in patient care. To qualify, the candidate must be nominated by an SRC accredited surgeon or SRC inspector, maintain appropriate licensure, have significant training and experience in their specialty, and devote a significant portion of their time to educating and treating patients.
Oehrlein achieved the designation for her demonstrated excellence in care for robotics surgery patients following CRMC’s October 2022 site visit to confirm CRMC as a Robotics Center of Excellence. “Your dedication and commitment to the robotic program and quality patient care is amazing,” said SRC’s Clinical Quality and Compliance Senior Manager Cindy Vanderhoff, R.N., M.S.N.
A member of CRMC’s nursing staff since 2001, Oehrlein has worked in surgery for 15 years and previously was the charge OR nurse. She worked closely with surgeons in coordinating CRMC’s robotic program including operations, assisting with staff training, product purchasing, and working with vendors. Oehrlein earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at The College of St. Scholastica.
