(Crosby, MN) — The Crosby-Ironton School Board moved to not renew the Coaching Contract of Brad Hollenhorst at Monday’s Board of Education meeting as they went forward with approving other contracts and began the process of preparing for the School Board Election in November.
We spoke to Crosby-Ironton Schools Superintendent Dr. Jamie Skjeveland on the Board’s recognition of longtime Preschool program coordinator Tammy Novak.
Members of the Community were in attendance for the meeting, eyeing the resolution to not renew the coaching contract of Volleyball and Softball coach Brad Hollenhorst after concerns were raised by student-athletes feeling comfortable around him. Skjeveland did say the crowd handled the situation in a fair manner from both sides of the aisle.
The Board voted 4-2 in favor of not renewing the coaching contract of Brad Hollenhorst, which was not bearing against his teaching contract at Crosby-Ironton. Skjeveland also gave a plea to the teaching community with the District’s opening in Special Education.
The Board approved annual contracts including Activity and Gate Fees, Facility Use/Rental Fees, but Skjeveland mentioned his concern in the rise in meal prices.
The Board of Education could also have a potential new look this fall with the School Board Election set for November 8th.
Crosby-Ironton Schools Superintendent Dr. Jamie Skjeveland also spoke about the Board’s approval of the 2022-23 Preliminary Budget in our full conversation that you can find with this story here:
