Crow Wing County Board approves Short Term Rental License Agreement
On Tuesday, the Crow Wing County Board approved a short term rental licensing agreement, meaning any city or township doing its own zoning can contract with the county to regulate short-term rentals. Crow Wing County began a short-term rental ordinance in 2021, defining the responsibilities of people who rent a home, cabin or place where sleeping quarters are provided to the public not intended for long-term living that isn’t a motel-type arrangement. Short-term rentals have been increasing and with that, so has concern over a number of potentially disruptive behaviors that would affect residential neighbors. Statistics compiled by the land services department showed an increase in licenses of a little more than 25% over the number of licenses issued in 2021.
