Crow Wing County set for CSAH 45 Bridge replacement, CSAH 49/5 road work

(Brainerd, MN) — Crow Wing County will begin major road projects including a bridge replacement and resurfacing work.

Redstone Construction will be tasked with the bridge replacement on the bridge crossing the Nokasippi River, approximately 8 miles south of Brainerd. The project will consist of providing a new bridge deck, railing, guardrail and associated items. CSAH 45 at the project location is scheduled to be closed to through traffic on May 2nd. Traffic will be detoured utilizing County Road 131, CSAH 21, and CSAH 2.

DeChantal Excavating will be charged with the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of CSAH 49 (Wise Road) and CSAH 5 (Beaver Dam Road) north of Brainerd. The project will consist of grading, storm sewer, contrate scrub and gutter, bituminous resurfacing and associated signing and lighting. Weather dependent, the project is scheduled to begin on May 2nd, at which time through traffic on Wise road will be detoured. The detour will use TH 371, TH 210, and Mill Avenue. Users of Beaver Dam Road will need to utilize Riverside Drive to access the detour route.

Both projects are anticipated to be open to traffic in July 2022.
