(Deerwood, MN) — The Deerwood City Council meeting from Monday, February 7th included updates from the Cuyuna Pickle Ball Association and Deerwood Civic & Commerce from the Deerwood Auditorium.

Nathan Schultz spoke on behalf of the Cuyuna Pickle Ball Association to inform the Council of their intentions and layout of their courts.

Jim Mayne from Deerwood Civic & Commerce presented to the Council on returning with the Deerwood Outdoor & Gun Show in March.

Discussion was held on a transfer of property for a parcel of land along Highway 210 that was previously held by Brian Wasserziecher and was acquired by the City of Deerwood through forfeiture, with no decision on the transfer taking place. 

The Council also approved the State of Minnesota Joint Powers Agreement,  the Court Data Services Subscriber Amendment to JDN Subscriber Agreement Joint Power, and a grant application to Sourcewell on behalf of the Fire Department.

Other notes from the meeting included the Police Department being approved for a new squad car, the Fire Department replacing their radios, and the Public Works Department getting their new snowplow prepared for the next snowfall.

The Deerwood City Council next meets on Monday, March 7th at 6pm from the Deerwood Auditorium.
