DNR, Mille Lacs Tourism Council hosting meet-and-greet April 28th

(Mille Lacs Lake, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Mille Lacs Tourism Council is holding a community meet-and-greet gathering from 5:30-7pm on Thursday, April 28th at Izaty’s Resort on Mille Lacs Lake.
Ann Brucciani Lyon will present a short introduction about the “Keep It Clean” campaign.
Carl Klimah from the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Fisheries will present results from the telemetry survey the band has been conducting on Mille Lacs Lake, which tracks the movements of several species of fish.
Tom Heinrich from the DNR’s Mille Lacs Lake Area Fisheries Office will discuss fish sampling programs and findings for northern pike and smallmouth bass populations, and how the walleye population has been changing.
Conservation officers Dan Starr and Scott Staples are also expected to attend and answer any law enforcement questions you may have.
