DNR temporarily closing State forest roads and trails during Spring thaw

(Minnesota) — As the Spring thaw continues, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has already begun temporarily closing some state forest roads and trails as they melt and they have been made too soft to support vehicle traffic without causing damage.
Depending on weather conditions, the temporary closures have begun in the southern portion of the State and closures could remain in effect until May.
For information on road and trail closures, visit the DNR’s road closure page. Temporary closure signs also will be posted at entry points and parking lots. Roads that can handle vehicle traffic during the spring thaw will remain open but might have vehicle weight restrictions.
