DTOM 22/0 Foundation and Veterans Ranch using horses for therapy sessions
The DTOM 22/0 Foundation and Veterans Ranch is using a unique therapeutic method to help area veterans get back on their feet and deal with issues that stem from their time serving. This method is called the Draper Sensory Method and the Veterans Ranch uses a trio of horses that are specially trained in this therapeutic method. DTOM 22/0 Foundation and Veterans Ranch founder and CEO Chris Reder tells us more.
The sessions on the horse itself are also unique and Reder walked us through a session and what it may look like as well as how it works.
While the program is only taking place at the South Dakota Ranch for the time being Reder says veterans from the region are still welcome to sign up for therapy lessons.
