East Polk Heritage Center Celebrates 40 Years

The East Polk Heritage Center is now into its 40th year in 2026 and the 40th anniversary will
come with a big celebration this weekend as the annual Heritage Days is going to be filled with
activities across Friday September 11th, and Saturday September 12th. Festivities will include a
concert from the Snowmen at 7pm at the Aurora Center for the Arts with cake and lemonade
served shortly beforehand and continues Saturday from 9am to 1:30pm at the Heritage Center
Grounds with several events and tents.

The East Polk Heritage Center’s main goal is to highlight the local area’s rich history as well as
collect and preserve artifacts from that history to help ignite their imagination, stimulate thought,
and inspire people to learn from traditions to help shape a better future.

The Heritage Days event will hopefully help the Center in achieving its goal, by bringing in
people to enjoy the festivities and learn while they are at it, with Saturdays activities taking place
at the grounds where the Center features 4 historic buildings that now serve as museums and
snap shots in time to Polk County’s origins.

Other events to be showcased include Author Mark Christensen being featured at the Sons of
Norway Tent, an antique tractor show, the famous 5 buck lunch, a gun raffle drawing, and much
