Eligibility Requirements Change for MN Veteran Optical & Dental Grants
Fosston, MN — Minnesota Veterans may be able eligible to receive assistance to cover optical and dental needs depending on their income.
Dental benefits are provided to Veterans and their dependents for routine dental, extraction, and denture procedures. This benefit is income and asset based, and upon MDVA approval of eligibility you and your dependents may receive up to $1,000 for annual routine dental care paid to your choice of providers.
Upon application, optical benefits are provided on an annual basis to Veterans and their dependents. You and your dependents may receive up to $400 paid to your choice of providers for annual eye exams and prescription eyewear, to include contact lenses.
Kurt Ellefson, Polk County Veteran Service Officer, notes that the income eligibility guidelines have changed recently, so if you weren’t eligible before you could be now.
If you qualify for optical or dental benefits, you may be eligible for other state Veterans benefits as well, such as special needs grants and disaster relief. Please contact your County Veteran Service Officer for assistance or more information on these or other benefits
