Emergency drill planned for May 24th at Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area
Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in conjunction with multiple area police and fire services, as well as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and area air medical operations, will be conducting another multi-discipline training exercise in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area on Tuesday, May 24.
The training is centered around a multiple-casualty incident occurring in one of the more remote areas of the trail system and will incorporate elements of rope rescue and Central Lakes Search and Rescue with Crow Wing County Emergency Management establishing their Mobile Incident Command Center onsite. Other participating entities will include Crow Wing County Emergency Dispatch as well as CRMC’s Emergency Department.
Because of the remote nature and potential risks of the exercise, the public is asked to avoid using the affected sections of the trails system. Members of the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew will be maintaining trail security.
