The Fosston Greyhounds used a 12-0 run to help lead them to the 58-36 win over Ada-Borup-West Friday night in Fosston. Brynlea Mahlen connected on four three pointers and scored 15 points as Fosston Improved their overall record to 14-3 and their conference record to 9-1. Katelyn Vesledahl added 10 points for the Greyhounds with Kinsley Duppong and Lexi Mahlen each pitching in with 8 points for Fosston. Morgan Smart led the Cougars with 9 points a Ada-Borup-West falls to 6-12 overall and 5-7 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Alex Tinjum added 8 points and Izzy Marcussen and Morgan Engel each scored 6 points apiece for the Cougars. Alex Tinjum nailed a three pointer to give Ada-Borup West a 3-0 lead but the Greyhounds would take the lead for good at 6-5. The Greyhounds held the Cougars scoreless for the first 4:42 of the second half and were able to build their lead up to 18 at 36-18. The Greyhounds shot 8 of 18 at the free throw line and turned the ball over 11 times while the Cougars were 8 of 11 at the stripe and had 23 turnovers. Ada-Borup-West won the “B” Squad game over Fosston 26-8. The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, February 7th when they host the Bagley Flyers as part of a doubleheader in Ada (106.5 FM & YLE). The Greyhounds will play their next game on Monday, February 6th when they travel to Win-E-Mac to play the Patriots (1480-AM/99.7 FM).
