OKLEE, MN – The Mahnomen-Waubun Thunderbirds picked up their fifth victory of the season with their win over Red Lake County Central Mustangs (2-7), 53-34, in their Girls basketball matchup.

The Thunderbirds, led by head coach Zack Qual, have had plenty of close matchups this season, but behind a well executed offense and tenacious defense, led by seniors Alaina Bevins and Kendra Syverson, they were able to get out to an early lead and never look back.

Red Lake County Central was able to have some success inside the paint, with senior Marissa Thomas leading in scoring with 11 points, but the uptempo offense of Mahnomen-Waubun proved to be too much.
