MayPort-CG 8, Hillsboro/Central Valley 3

MayPort-CG scored four runs in the first inning and went on to defeat Hillsboro/Central Valley 8-3 Saturday in the North Dakota Class B Region 2 quarterfinals at Mayville State University.

Jacob Hutter (3-0) pitched a complete game for the Patriots, allowing six hits, three runs (one earned), with four walks and six strikeouts.  The senior also had two hits and two rbi at the plate.

Walker McGillis added three hits for the Patriots and scored twice.

Andrew Dullum (1-3) took the loss for HCV.  He allowed 12 hits over six innings, eight runs (six earned), with four walks and four strikeouts.

Gavin Beliles had two of the Burros’ six hits on the afternoon.  HCV (9-8) meets Larimore in the consolation round Monday at Mayville State.

MayPort-CG (9-3) faces Thompson in the Region semifinals Monday night at Mayville State.
