The NCE-UH Titans used solid defense and great rebounding to pick up their first win of the season 66-62 over the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds.  The Titans shot the ball much better than their first 2 games, and they were able to clean up on the boards giving them 2nd chance opportunities.  The Thunderbirds were in foul trouble early which altered their defensive intensity.  The Titans did a nice job of hitting free throws in the game and despite committing 30 turnovers they were able to take advantage of key opportunities to make shots.  Mahnomen Waubun kept it close all night as there were 14 lead changes and 14 ties through out the game, but in the end it came down to fouls trouble and rebounding that doomed the Thunderbirds in this one.  With the win NCE-UH is now 1-2 while Mahnomen Waubun drops to 1-2.
