Region 2A Volleyball Tournament – Harvey/Wells County vs Thompson

Thompson 3, Harvey/Wells County 1 (25-14, 25-22, 23-25, 25-16)
5th ranked Thompson advanced to the Region 2A volleyball semifinals Monday with a 3 sets to 1 victory over Harvey/Wells County at Mayville State University.
The Tommies jumped to a 5-0 start in the first set, stretched that to 20-10 and eventually won 25-14.
In set 2, Thompson led 13-6 before the Hornets rallied to tie it at 17. Thompson would regain the lead and take the second set 25-22.
The third set started close, then HWC took a 19-14 lead. Thompson tied it at 20, 21 and 22, before the Hornets took the set 25-23.
The fourth set was all Thompson, with the Tommies winning 25-16 to advance to the Region semifinals.
Senior Kloey Huebner had 14 kills and junior Andie Schwab had 13 to lead Thompson (22-9).
Braylee Keller had 8 kills for Harvey/Wells County (19-10) with Tenley Grossman adding 4 blocks.
Thompson will play top seed Carrington in Tuesday’s semifinal at 5:30 at Mayville State.
