Fertile-Beltrami School Board to explore options for 2026-27 School Calendar

Minnesota law traditionally requires public schools to start after Labor Day. Upcoming legislation for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years would provide flexibility for districts to start before Labor Day if they choose, due to later Labor Day dates in those years. Fertile-Beltrami School Superintendent Brian Clarke says the Fertile-Beltrami School Board will be looking at some different options with the school calendar for the next school year.

For many schools in our region, including Fertile-Beltrami, the hope is to usually have the school year completed by Memorial Day.
