Fertile City Council Selects New Engineering Service
Fertile, MN — The City of Fertile has selected a new engineering firm to represent the city and assist with major construction projects. The city council, who previously contracted with Alteig Engineering, had began seeking out a new proposals from area engineers and after a special meeting this past week voted to sign on with Moore Engineering, according to Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden.
Alteig Engineering did not submit a proposal to the city to continue their services. For Moore Engineering, Liden says they shouldn’t have any major work from the city out of the gate unless they decide to move forward with their community center rehab.
At this week’s meeting, the Fertile City Council did approve moving forward with the process to install a new roof at the Fertile Learning Center.
And there’s been a lot of discussion lately about the Fair Meadow Nursing Home. Administrator Liden says nursing homes have dealt with a number of issues in the past couple years, but staffing continues to be a constant strain on the facility.
And the city of Fertile’s airport project was recently awarded intermediate project of the year. We’ll have more on that later this week on R & J News.
