A financial consultant is claiming former Fair Meadow Nursing Home administrator Angie Leiting has lost over $2 million in earnings capacity following her June 2023 resignation….as well as a loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars from a loss of enjoyment of life.  You’ll remember Leiting resigned under fire after several meetings with the Fertile City Council.  The City of Fertile owns Fair Meadow Nursing Home.

According to a court document from Chicago-based financial consulting firm Smith Economics Group Limited, Leiting’s estimated loss of wages and benefits from the time of her dismissal to the time she might retire at age 67 would be $2,011,426. The consultants also determined what Leiting would lose in terms of reduction in the value of her life.  Depending on the level of impairment, she would lose $954,350 if the impairment was low….or $1,858,055 if the impairment was high.

A hearing on a summary judgement in Leiting’s lawsuit against the City of Fertile, former mayor Dan Wilkens and Fair Meadow nursing home is scheduled for June 5 in Crookston.
