FOSSTON, MN—A late addition to the Fosston City Council’s agenda for Monday night’s regular meeting turned out to be a major item of interest.  Fosston City Administrator Cassie Heide says a proposal from HR Green of St. Paul was accepted regarding MnDOT’s proposal to remove the stop light at US Highway 2 in downtown Fosston.

Heide says community input from a recent public hearing was considered in scheduling HR Green’s analysis.

The City of Fosston will spend just under 21-thousand dollars for the traffic study.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the Fosston City Council swore in Nicholas Agnew as a new police officer.  And the Council meetings for September and December have been moved to the third Monday of both months instead of the regular second Monday of the month.  Heide says the City’s preliminary budget will be featured in the September meeting and the Truth in Taxation hearing will be during the December Council meeting.
