Fosston Curling Club Hosting 4th Annual Novice Bonspiel
Fosston, MN — The Fosston Curling Club welcomes both beginner and advanced curlers to their 4th annual Novice Bonspiel this Sunday, February 5th at the Fosston Outdoor Skating Rink. This is a one-day tournament and is open to up to 16 teams. You can register as a team or as an individual to be placed on a team. Evan Fonder of the Fosston Curling Club says this is a fun tournament for all skill levels and a great way to expose others to the sport.
Curling starts at Noon and spectators are welcome. The cost for registration is $25 per person or $100 for a team. All the equipment is provided and there will be concessions and refreshments available in the warming house. The top three teams will take home a prize of Fosston Bucks.
Funds earned from the tournament will go back towards supporting the Fosston Curling Club. Fonder says their non-profit club continues to grow with more than 50 members and some big aspirations of one day taking the curling indoors.
Fonder adds that they’ve had tremendous support from the community since forming and they’ve learned there’s more of a history with curling in the area than perhaps originally thought.
