(Deerwood, MN) — To usher in better feelings for the Spring season, The Great River Strings Orchestra will make their early year return with “An Appalachian Spring” concerts this weekend in Deerwood and Aitkin.

We spoke to Great River Strings conductor Rich Aulie about the group that spans all over the Lakes area.

The inspiration for this weekend’s performance’s calls back to the simple days of music and brings thawing feelings after another long winter.

Holding two shows, Saturday at Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood and the Butler Building in Aitkin, gives the chance for many to see the performance and make practices worthwhile for the Orchestra.

Despite holding two regular concerts in the year, Great River Strings also keeps their schedule open to the public and other artistic organizations.

“An Appalachian Spring” by the Great River String Orchestra will be performed Saturday, April 30th at 7pm from the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood and Sunday May 1st at 3pm from Uptop the Butler Building in Aitkin. General Admission is a Free Will Offering for both shows.
