Halstad City Council Acts On Wild Turkey Problems
HALSTAD, MN—The Halstad City Council moved one step closer to solving the city’s wild turkey problem. As R&J News has previously reported, people have been feeding wild turkeys in Halstad…which has led to more turkeys coming into the area and some turkeys have damaged homes. Halstad Mayor Darin Johnson says at Monday’s regular meeting, the City Council passed on first reading an ordinance that bans people from feeding wild turkeys.
The new ordinance must be passed on a second reading; that’s scheduled for the Halstad City Council’s July meeting.
Also at Monday’s Halstad City Council meeting, the Council approved weight limit permits to allow a local couple to move a house from Buxton, North Dakota to Halstad.
