Hillsboro City Commission Approves 2023 Budget
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their first regular monthly meeting of the 2023 year on Tuesday night, January 3rd at the Main Street Community Center. At the meeting, the commission finally approved their 2023 budget, which they have been discussing for the last few months. Hillsboro City Commission President Levi Reese says included in the budget was pay raises for city employees, but also an increase to the sewer rates.
With the adjustments to the new budget, President Reese says the city should be in better financial shape in 2023.
The Hillsboro City Commission also reviewed the city employee handbook. Reese says the discussion was around employee evaluations and the proper procedures surrounding them.
The Hillsboro City Commission approved removing a no-parking sign in front of a new daycare across the school, discussed a new lease agreement with Mayville State University for the Armory, and received an update on beautification.
