Hillsboro City Commission News & Notes from December 5th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their first monthly meeting on Monday night, December 5th at the Main Street Community Center. The 2023 budget was a big focus of their discussions, which they look to finalize at their next meeting. Hillsboro City Commission President Levi Reese says he doesn’t expect the commission to make any sizable budget cuts, but they will need to raise some revenues to balance out the books.
Also a priority in next year’s budget will be to set aside money for those more expensive capital purchases, according to Reese.
And things got a little heated towards the end of the meeting as commission members and a couple community members sparred over their concerns, one of them relating to insurance benefits that certain commission members receive.
