Hillsboro Fire Department to break ground on new firehouse soon 

The City of Hillsboro had discussions in regards to strategic planning at their City Commission meeting earlier this week. Hillsboro City Auditor Casey Eggermont tells us more about these discussions, which will continue into future commission meetings. 

Eggermont says the commission also took a look into the city’s financial standing, and resident delinquencies, and she’s happy to announce that both are in good standing. 

In other city news, Eggermont is also happy to report that the Traill County Sheriff’s office has entered into an agreement with the organization Circle of Friends, to help with the city, and county’s stray animal problems. 

Last November, Hillsboro voters approved a measure that would build the Hillsboro Fire Department a new fire hall, and Eggermont says that should be breaking ground in the coming weeks.
