Hunting Booms Business for Local Fosston Hardware Store
Fosston, MN — It’s a busy week at the local hardware stores as hunters rush in to get their hunting licenses and grab those last minutes hunting supplies before this Saturday’s firearms season opener. Tim Johnson, Assistant Manager at Burggraf’s Ace Hardware in Fosston, says this is probably their busiest week of the year.
Burggraf’s customers include a good mix of local folks and those who have hunting land in the area, but come from the Twin Cities and North Dakota. Johnson says these last couple of years one of the biggest trends in hunting has been the shift to preconstructed hunting blinds with hunters aiming to hunt in comfort and style.
Various products have been difficult to get these couple years since the pandemic. Last year 1 pound propane tanks for heaters were nearly impossible to find. While those are back in stock most everywhere, Johnson says getting a good supply of ammo is a constant struggle.
And while it’s a busy week, Johnson says he looks forward to chatting with hunters and being a part of this great Minnesota tradition.
Burggraf’s Ace Hardware in Fosston is open 8am until 5:30pm Monday through Saturday and are located right along Highway at 306 1st St E.
