Ice Chaser Speed Runs Chasing History
This weekend, March 8-9th, the Straight Line Speed Association(SLSA) will be holding their Ice Chaser Speed Runs at the Thunder Bay Lodge on Rainy Lake. I had the opportunity to talk to Keith Mohawk of Mohawk’s Salvage, and one of the heads of the event. He had the following to say about what the event is.
I then asked him about the test runs happening on Friday, March 8th
He also talked about who all was involved with the event and the organization.
SLSA has been doing these kinds of events for around 26 years, but this is only the second time they’ve held the event here in the Falls.
He then ends the interview explaining the history of the speed record that one of the racers is attempting to break on Saturday’s runs. He also explains the classes of racers that will be competing.
The test runs on March 8th begin at noon and run till 5pm, and the races on Saturday run from 10am-5pm.
