Iconic Kerosene Annie Rumley Oil Pull Tractor to Come Alive at WMSTR
Rollag, MN — Kerosene Annie will come alive again at this year’s Western Minnesota Steam Thresher’s Reunion in Rollag during the Labor Day weekend. Rumley Oil Pull Tractors, including Gaar Scott, Aultmann Taylor Advance, and Falk & Olds engines, will be this year’s feature on top of Steamer Hill. But the most exciting of those is Kerosene Annie, the only remaining of the first experimental oil-pull tractors. Luke Steinberger, Rumley Feature Committee Lead, talks about the history of this tractor, which was manufactured in 1909 and now is housed in the JUMP Museum in Boise, Idaho.
But in true Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion fashion, Steinberger says they weren’t content with just bringing in Kerosene Annie to be a static display. They worked with the JUMP museum to not only get it running but running very well. Steinberger says you’ll have the opportunity to see it in full action this coming Labor Day weekend.
Along with Kerosene Annie, many other unique one-of-one Rumley tractors from as far as California will be featured at the Steam Threshers. Learn more online at www.rollag.com. The Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion runs September 2nd through the 5th in Rollag.
