Injured Motorcyclist Identified
Here’s an update to a story R&J News told you Monday morning. The motorcyclist who was seriously injured after a chase with North Dakota Highway Patrol officers Saturday night, May 31, has been identified and charged. The Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Joshua St. Claire of Gardner has been charged with fleeing an officer and reckless indifference-extreme indifference. The Highway Patrol was called around 9:30 Saturday night about a reckless driver who was going south on I-29 near the Mayville exit. Patrol officers tried to make a traffic stop, but St. Claire kept on going. He turned off the freeway onto North Dakota Highway 200A, going east, and then southbound on Traill County Road 81. St. Claire’s motorcycle failed to make a curve, went into the west ditch and rolled over several times, throwing St. Claire from his motorcycle. He was airlifted to a local hospital; no word on his condition.
