International Water Institute: Who are they, and what do they do?
International Water Institute Executive Director Chuck Fritz joined Rob Sip of the Red River Watershed Management Board on the KRJB Kaleidoscope on Wednesday. The International Water Institute (IWI) plays a big role in water management across the Red River Basin, but many are unfamiliar with the work they do. Fritz gives us a brief explanation of what the IWI is, and their role with area watersheds.
Fritz says the IWI also played a pivotal role in bringing, and implementing LiDAR in the Red River Basin.
Fritz says the IWI is also involved in many programs including the Riverwatch program, which is offered to students across the region including Norman County East, Bagley, East Grand Forks Sacred Heart, Red Lake County Central, Hawley, Climax Shelly, and Red Lake Falls.
Finally Fritz tells us more about the IWI’s Stewardship Program, which has become a large part of what the IWI offers to area producers.
The full conversation with Chuck Fritz and Rob Sip can be heard online at rjbroadcasting.com under the Kaleidoscope program.
