It’s Opening Day of the Polk County Fair!

Fertile, MN — All roads to lead to Fertile this week for the annual Polk County Fair! 5 days of food, music, rides, exhibits, grandstand events, animals, and all-around family fun begin today with Sneak-a-Peak Day. Polk County Fairboard President Dan Grunhovd says today will busy with getting entries and exhibits set up and first of two days of rodeo in the grandstand.

Thursday of the Polk County fair will be a big day for the judges with horse shows, livestock judging, and a talent show on the free stage.

There is lots to see and do each day throughout the Polk County Fair. All throughout the grounds is a number of barns and buildings filled to the brim with exhibits, vendors, and more, according to Grunhovd.

The Gloryland Gospel Tent and Hanson Memorial Free Stage will be busy throughout the fair as well with free entertainment. Some highlights from the Free Stage this year include Sherwin Linton, FM All Stars, Chmielewski Fun Time Band, The Woodpicks, and children’s acts Sonflowers and Dollipops.

Grunhovd says what makes the Polk County Fair so special is how everyone both in and outside of the community contributes to the fair.
