Just For Kicks!
I had the opportunity to interview the Just For Kicks Dance team which is split into two groups, younger and older. I had first talked to the younger group and asked them how long they danced for.
And for those 2-4 years I asked them what their favorite part was and they had a rather straightforward answer.
So why did they decide to dance?
They then talked about their favorite type of dance to do.
The younger group was also made up of a rather diverse group in terms of age and grade.
They were then asked what was their favorite dance that they’ve done so far.
I then talked to the older group which made up one senior, Ashley Splatt, and one freshman, Carly Tramer, who both had been dancing for five years. I started by asking Ashley about her experience as the coach of the younger girls.
I then asked her if coaching came easy to her.
So what was their favorite part about the competitions?
And with nerves being a natural part of any competition, I asked them how they dealt with those nerves.
In their last competition they won high gold, and this is what they said about the feeling of that award.
When I asked about practices, and how many dances they work on in a single practice, I learned something interesting about the one they practiced at the end.
The older group are coached by Emberlyn, and Just For Kicks will have their next performance on April 26th.
