Lake Park-Audubon School Board News & Notes from May 23rd Meeting
Audubon, MN — The Lake Park-Audubon School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 23rd. At the meeting, Lake Park-Audubon Superintendent Dr. Tim Godfrey reported on sewer backup issues in the Elementary. The district had to close school on Tuesday and let out early on Monday due to the issue.
Superintendent Godfrey also gave an update to the board on this fall’s Strategic Planning meetings. The district will be hosting stakeholder meetings this fall with the assistance of retired Superintendent Dr. Schatz to update their strategic plan, which is something they like to do every five years.
The first Lake Park-Audubon Strategic Planning stakeholder meetings will take place in September.
The school board on Monday night approved refreshing their fleet of chromebooks for students. Dr. Godfrey notes that they will be on a leasing program for their chromebooks versus purchasing them outright.
And while the main construction for the Audubon Elementary renovation and expansion project won’t begin for a while, the board did get a jump start and approve steel bids and asbestos abatement.
The Lake Park-Audubon School Board also approved posting to hire a part time community service assistant and accepted the resignations of Custodian Jeff Martinson, Head Volleyball Coach Tatum Hall, District Title 1 Coordinator Raina Askin, and Phy Ed Instructor Cody Stevenson.
