Lake Park-Audubon to Move Forward with Greenhouse Project
Lake Park, MN — The Lake Park-Audubon School Board approved this week going ahead with constructing a new greenhouse for their agricultural education programming at their regular monthly meeting this week. Quotes for the greenhouse, which will paid for through fundraising efforts, came in much lower than anticipated given inflation and the current construction climate. Lake Park-Audubon Superintendent Dr. Tim Godfrey says the board approved fronting the 30% down payment for the roughly $130,000 greenhouse.
The greenhouse will be 400 square feet and constructed by Albert J Lauer Inc out of Farmington Minnesota.
Some construction will be starting later this year on the Elementary remodel and expansion, but first Dr. Godfrey notes that they will need to begin with asbestos abatement and the removal of an old house.
Because of the asbestos removal, the July and August school board meetings will be held at the High School in Lake Park.
